Happy International Women's Day! What I want for each and every one of us in this world is to be safe, respected, dignified and free - generations of women before us have fought valiantly for everything that we have today, but we're still far from the equal world worth living in. May their fight be the heritage that we will guard and a momentum to keep us going as we fight for a better future for new generations of girls and women to grow up in.
As an elementary school girl I was fascinated and amused by something that was, as people thought back then, reserved for boys - video games. I grew to love them thanks to my cousin that I'd hang out with all the time, who would be among the first kids to get the latest PlayStation console, and who also had huge boxes packed with different games. Back then I believed that he played everything that has ever been released. xD What I loved playing the most by his side were Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Tekken games, and that love lives on even today.
Tekken 8 came out recently - the newest game in the franchise, and when I realized that both that franchise and I are turning 30 this year I cried my eyes out watching the trailer, and then I rushed outside to buy my PlayStation 5 and that game. When I turned on the console and got back to playing, all the happy memories from my childhood came rushing back, and my inner child is happier than ever.
Tekken is a game that grew on me so easily not only because I played it with my cousin, but also because it had a great selection of female characters. And the best part is, none of those girls and women in the game was just a pretty face that could kick ass - every single one of them had a back story, her dreams, wishes and her reason to fight. Jun Kazama, Julia Chang, Ling Xiaoyu, Nina Williams and many others - each and every one of them was the reason why I felt allowed to play the way I wanted to and not listen to those who would say that video games aren't for girls.
To each and every one of us - I wish us to be seen, to be heard, and to know that there is no area where we're not welcome just because we're girls/women. Cheers!

  5. Predivne slike i odjevna kombinacija.
Diablo i Lara Croft. Š

  14. When I was a child I couldn't understand why some cool things were reserved for boys. I know now that those were stupid stereotypes. I do what I want and don't care what people say. I also think it's really sad that many women still suffer discrimination.
Love your outfit! Very stylish combo and you look fabulous!

  27. Hello!
I was very happy to read this post! After all, Women's Day should be every day, and every day we should remember that there are still many women in this world who are victims of violence and discrimination! I liked reading that you were a pioneer in video games! And how you had great memories of your childhood! I wish you a happy week!
