Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette (find it here)

This summer I spent my vacation by visiting Calabria, a region in the south of Italy, but right before I arrived to Calabria I had the chance to visit Ravenna. I did some research ahead to be sure that Ravenna had a Sephora store because Italian Sephora stores have more products available than the ones in Serbia (which turned out to not be true in Ravenna as it's not so well supplied as the ones in other larger cities in Italy), so instead of the Fenty Beauty products I was initially aiming for, I ended up buying the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette. I've been fascinated by oriental culture and countries of the Middle East (if you watched "O Clone / The Clone" you'll surely understand) and when this palette was released it ended up on my wishlist at once, and now I finally got my hands on it. If you'd like to get it too you can get it on Shop Huda Beauty or in your local Sephora store.
This palette contains eighteen amazing shades that are a direct association to the scorching desert, the dusk and, if you ask me, the spice markets in the Middle East, and you can make countless combos with them as they complement each other so beautifully. They are all buttery in texture except for Cosmo (it will later be clear why) and they blend beautifully, although there is more fall out than with some other palettes that I've been using. These beautiful eighteen shades are, as they appear in the palette:

1. Desert Sand:  a light beige color with a matte finish which is ideal to use as a base.
2. Musk:  a light brown matte shade ideal for the crease and as a transitional color to deeper brown tones.
3. Eden:  a perfect matte peachy shade which will look good on everyone, and also match well with red and burgundy shades.
4. Amber:  a real matte amber color which will look great as a transitional color with darker browns.
5. Blood Moon:  I had the opportunity to watch the Blood Moon this year and I can say that this eyeshadow really suits the phenomenon. I would describe it as something between orange and red with a pearly sheen.
6. Oud:  a matte color that reminds me of tree bark or coffee beans, perfect for the smokey eyes technique and the outer corner of the eye.
7. Celestial:  one of the duochrome shades that is something between gold and rose gold.
8. Nefertiti:  named by the most beautiful queen of ancient Egypt, if it's to believe the legend, this is a true gold, pressed pearl shade that I always associated with pharaohs and Egyptian mythology.
9. Twilight:  the second of the three duochrome eyeshadows in the palette which will surely blow your mind - it will be a perfect match to pink and purple shades, or even blue if you're brave enough to experiment and include colors from different palettes. At first glance it's lavender, but this is one beautiful eyeshadow with an intriguing shine and many people I asked said that it reminded them of mermaids and unicorns.
10. Amethyst:  a pure warm purple color, one of the matte shades, and the name itself says it all - it precisely depicts the beauty of the precious stone.
11. Royal:  a predominantly purple color with a pearly sheen and subtle burgundy and brown undertones - one of the most intriguing colors in the palette which would probably be best described as plum.
12. Retrograde:  how many times have you heard of people "going bonkers" when Mercury was in retrograde? I always laughed when I heard something like that, but this shade really reminds me of Mercury on some satellite images, and also mercury as a liquid metal, and I'm sure that it's just as interesting as the last of the three duochrome shades, especially if you match it with dark grey and black shades from some other eyeshadow palettes.
13. Cashmere:  a very interesting and versatile shade with a pearly sheen which is something between gold and copper, but with a not so prominent warm tone, it seems a bit muted so it can be matched with so many different colors.
14. Angelic:  a pearly eyeshadow which is a mixture of pink and peach, and it magically shines as gold.
15. Cosmo: this eyeshadow is completely different than all the others in the palette because this isn't really an eyeshadow! Namely, the thing is that they added pressed glitter to the palette which shines as perfectly as diamond dust. Their texture is obviously different and they're best applied using brushes with short and stiff bristles or even fingers, and to make them stay longer it it best to use a glitter primer before you put them on.
16. Turkish Delight:  a magical red shade with a pearly sheen which will look wonderful combined with gold and burgundy shades.
17. Saffron:  saffron is one of my favourite spices and it perfectly depicts the taste of the Middle East, and this eyeshadow is true to its natural color. This beautiful burgundy matte shade will surely "spice up" your daily make up routine.
18. Blazing:  this shade is fire! A bright orange matte eyeshadow such as this one is surely not something many of us would go for instantly, but it will look awesome with red shades from the palette or even be a great statement shade among neutral eyeshadows.

As this palette's been available for a year now I'm sure that some of you have already used it longer than me, and therefore I'm asking - what's your experience with it and do you like the colors and shades that this palette has to offer? Let me know in the comments.
